Rachel has the sweetest personality. Bubbly, giggly and fun, but also genuine. She was such a trooper for her session as we shot in between rain showers and hid out in the coffee shop for a few minutes as we waited for the blue skies to reappear. You might have seen our behind the scenes craziness over on Instagram or Snapchat (@dearkateseniors) . You would have never known though from the final product! We started our session in downtown Loveland for Rachel's more urban and edgy senior photos and then we headed to a natural area for that more Colorado girl look! I was so happy Rachel brought her cheer outfit! Being a cheerleader for Loveland High School is a big part of Rachel's high school experience so I was excited to incorporate that into her senior portraits. Love the shots we got! Have a look for yourself :)
What kind of look were you going for in the shoot?
I wanted my photos to look natural and like I was having a good time. That's exactly what my photos portray in almost all of them Kate had me laughing and I didn't have to fake a smile it just came.
How was your overall senior photo session experience?
The entire experience was so amazing. Kate is just a joy to work with! Getting my hair and makeup done to start off with then having to battle the rain. Even though it wasn't the perfect weather we still made the most of it and we had such a fantastic time!
How did you feel about the hair and make up experience?
I had so much fun getting my hair and makeup done! Keegan does a finaminal job to make you look like your not wearing an excessive amount of makeup and she really knows how to highlight your features in a beautiful way.
What's one piece of advice you have for other seniors getting their picture taken?
Make the most out of it. Do not be shy and just let your personality shine! If you're yourself in front of the camera the photos will really be amazing!
How many outfits did you bring and was it enough? Was it too much? Anything you'd change?
I brought six outfits and I wore them all! I loved each outfit I brought and thought I had plenty I don't think I'd change what I brought because I knew exactly what I wanted to wear.
How did you choose to accessorize your outfits?
I just found jewelry that I felt fit the outfit well it wasn't too big or bulky to take away from the photos but just enough to make the outfits come together.
How would you advise someone else to prepare for a senior photo session?
Know exactly what you want to wear and have your priority outfits that you know you want to wear because if you don't have time for all of them then you want to get your best outfits in first. Know what you'd like your hair and makeup to look like when you get there and have options so you can work with Keegan to figure out what is going to photograph well!
What was your biggest fear or worry about the photo shoot? What was the outcome?
My biggest worry was that it was going to be awkward and that I wouldn't know what to do in front of the camera, but all my worries were tamed by the wonder woman Kate! She really helped me comfortable and confident in front of the camera and I really didn't have to think she just took the photos and sure enough they turned out to be wonderful!
What are three words you would use to describe yourself?
Energetic, funny , smart
What are your plans for after high school graduation?
After high school graduation I plan on attending a private liberal arts college to major in Bio-chem and eventually move onto medical school to become a dermatologist.
